๐ŸŒˆSpirit Day - October 21st๐Ÿ’œ

 What is Spirit Day?

Spirit Day is an annual LGBTQ awareness day observed on the third Thursday in October and was started in 2010 by Canadian teenager Brittany McMillan.

LGBTQ youth face bullying and harassment because of their identities. Each year millions go purple for Spirit Day to support LGBTQ youth in a united stand against bullying. Pledging to "go purple" on Spirit Day is a way for everyone - global and local brands and companies, world leaders, celebrities, neighbours, parents, classmates and friends - to visibly show solidarity with youth and take part in the largest, most visible LGBTQ anti-bullying campaign in the world.

Although Spirit Day is a Canadian / American based day it should be talked about worldwide, will you join us in taking the pledge to support LGBTQ youth?

Should we make this more recognised in 2022 and turn East Sussex College purple for the day? Let us know your thoughts.
