NIGHT IN THE WOODS
POSTED BY SAM

Night in the Woods is a 2017 video game set in Possum Springs, an old mining town inhabited by animal-people. It’s got a low skill ceiling and is very narrative heavy, almost like a visual novel split up by exploring a 2D world. Tackling themes like depression and the struggles of the lower classes, this game might not appeal to everyone, but thanks to the lack of a barrier to entry and the fact it can be played on most systems, I can (and will) recommend it to everyone. You should play this game!

In Night in the Woods you play as a cat called Mae as she returns to Possum Springs after leaving University, only to find out how the familiar can start to feel alien. She expected everything to go back to how it was, but instead discovers that everyone is moving on around her. She must learn to adapt or risk pushing everyone around her away, which is hard when the past keeps coming back to haunt her. Add in a spooky conspiracy at the heart of the town, secret narratives found by exploring, and a cast of lovable characters including Jackie, a fascist-hating transgender goat, and boyfriends Angus and Gregg, and you’ve got a great narrative that will take you through all the emotions in 8 to 10 hours.

IN THEIR SHOES
POSTED BY ALIX-REY

There is no one way to be non-binary, and that's truthfully one of the best things about it. It's an identity that is yours to shape.

Combining light-hearted anecdotes with their own heard-won wisdom, Jamie Windust explores everything from fashion, dating, relationships and family, through to mental health, work and future key debates. From trying on clothes in secret to iconic looks, first dates to polyamorous liaisons, passports and pronouns. Jamie shows you how to navigate the world and your evolving identity  in every type of situation.

I recently started reading this book after following Jamie on Instagram for years! I've been lucky enough to watch Jamie grown into the beautiful human they are today.
I highly recommend this book, it's made me realise so much about my own identity and where I fit within the non-binary umbrella.
