🌟MORE QUEER STAR WARS CHARACTERS🌟
Chelli Lona Aphra
Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra was first introduced in the early issues of Kieron Gillen’s 2015 Darth Vader comic run. She’s a rogue archaeologist and a master of ancient weaponry, created as a take on Indiana Jones fit for the galaxy far far away. In her first appearances she earned the respect of Darth Vader with her skills working on (murderous) droids, and as a con woman. She quickly became a fan favorite spawning her own 2017 comic series. Gillen always said she was a lesbian, and this series gave the writes a space to explore her sexuality with characters like Magna Tolvan, a rival and love interest for her throughout the run.
Yrica Quell
Pilot Yrica Quell was originally introduced in the first issue of the 2019 comic series Tie Fighter as an imperial pilot in the 204th fighter wing. She soon defected and joined the Rebel Alliance as the leader of Alphabet Squadron in the trilogy of books by the same name. Originally, she joined the Empire to learn how to fly with the idea of leaving to join the Alliance much sooner, but her sense of duty kept her working through the imperial ranks longer than she intended. Even when leading Alphabet Squadron, her split loyalty tested the trust of those around her as she tried to make up for her past. She is bisexual, and said to have been with male and female partners in the past.
Rae Sloane
Grand Admiral Rae Sloane was instrumental in the Empire surviving after Endor, taking power and uniting the imperial remnants before leading the survivors into the unknown regions and founding the First Order. In her early appearance as a newly appointed captain she was seen chasing down order 66 survivor Kanan Jarrus - at this point she believed that while the Empire wasn’t perfect it could be made to be so, planning to change the system from the inside. In the final book of the Aftermath Trilogy, Sloane says “I never had a husband or wife to die in my hands” which acknowledges non-heterosexual interest.
Sana Starros
Sana Starros was a smuggler during the Galactic Civil War. When audiences first met her in the fourth issue of 2015s Star Wars comic (set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back) they were shocked when she alleged to be the wife of Han Solo - a claim that turned out not be to true, but a reference to a past heist Solo and her had pulled on which he cheated her out of a profit. She is an ex romantic partner of Chelli Aphra from their university days.
Terec and Ceret
Terec and Ceret were trans non-binary twin Jedi during the High Republic Era. They served on the Starlight Beacon space station - the main outpost of the Jedi as they tried to convert the frontier to the Republic. Through the force they were bond-twins; twins that shared the same mind, and would often mix up conversations if both were trying to talk to different people at once. They went by they/them pronouns.
Lando Calrissian
We've already covered Lando's pansexuality in a previous Star Wars Queer Characters post (linked below) but we still wanted to include this comic cover BECAUSE LOOK HOW INCREDIBLE IT IS! We love our pansexual icon Lando!
