💖Heartstopper Volumes 1&2💖

Please note that some subject matters in the Heartstopper series can be upsetting and triggering for some readers. I'll make sure to add trigger warnings at the start of each post. Alice does have warnings before any potential triggering scenes for those reading online.

Volume 1 There is a 'One week later' time hop after Charlie joins the rugby team. Charlie receives a text saying 'You're at rugby, right? Meet me in the music block afterwards' the pages after this text contains a non consensual kiss as well as a violent non-consensual kissing and physically abusive behaviour. Pages 72-84

Volume 2 has some scenes of homophobic bullying (pages 479 - 495 and a slur word is used (page 495) this scene happens when they have finished watching a movie at the cinema.

HEARTSTOPPER VOLUME 1

Charlie and Nick are at the same school, but they've never met ... until one day when they're made to sit together. They quickly become friends, and soon Charlie is falling hard for Nick, even though he doesn't think he has a chance.

But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is more interested in Charlie than either of them realised.

Heartstopper is about love, friendship, loyalty and mental illness. It encompasses all the small stories of Nick and Charlie's lives that together make up something larger, which speaks to all of us.

I finished the first volume of Heartstopper in 1 sitting, I just couldn't stop reading. Watching Charlie and Nick become friends and then how they develop their friendship and feelings towards each other was beautiful.

HEARTSTOPPER VOLUME 2

Nick and Charlie are best friends. Nick knows Charlie's gay, and Charlie is sure that Nick isn't.

But love works in surprising ways, and Nick is discovering all kinds of things about his friends, his family ... and himself.

After the triggering scenes in volume 1 it was so lovely to see the support that Nick gives Charlie, you really start to see the connection between these two characters and how comfortable they are together. In volume 2 we also see Nick start to question his sexuality and understand more about himself. We are introduced to some new characters as well!
