Brooklyn teen Alike 'Lee' is a 17 year old Black girl who hangs out at clubs with her openly lesbian friend Laura. Alike slowly starts to embrace and come to terms with her sexuality. Feeling more comfortable in baggy clothes and men's underwear, how will Alike's mother respond to this? What heartbreaks and sacrifices will Alike have to face in order to liver her life as openly and freely as a butch lesbian. 

Directed by Dee Rees, Pariah premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and was awarded the Excellence in Cinematography Award.
